We're going to Paris!

Most of you already know my friend Alisma.  For those of you who don't, you may remember her from when I was planning my trip in India.  She is a friend of Melissa's.   Melissa introduced us because Alisma had been to India twice and could give me some ideas for where to go and what to do.  We got on like a ghar on fire (that's Hindi for house). She is even more 'frugal' on trips than I am. We have been talking about going on a trip together for years but she went on a couple with other people and I went on a couple with other people but now we are going to Europe this fall.  Yay!

I finally finished my Masters in December so I get to plan a trip around when it is a good time to travel instead of when my classes are booked.  Of course, I still have to consider other people's class schedules (aka, the students who want to talk to me).   Work is kind of crazy right now so we decided on late September (after fall term drop dates) and October (near to winter term registration date).  Seriously, they keep moving these closer together so that there isn't a four week window anymore so I am going to miss the first few days of registration.  I will wait to feel bad about that until I get back.

The plan is to go to Spain mostly.  But we both want to visit Paris.  I have never been there.  Plus there is bread, cheese and wine.  And it's Paris for Pete's sake, I have to see Paris before I die.  We had planned to do a side trip to France but with recent unfortunate events in Paris, flights there are cheaper than anywhere else in Europe.  So slight plan adjustment.  Fly into Paris, spend a few days and then head out to parts of Spain as yet undetermined.  Alisma is in charge of intra-continental itinerary.  We are booked for about four weeks.  We may split up for the last week.  I want to go to Morocco but Alisma has been there and may go to some other European country.

We both got vacations approved from work yesterday and bought out tickets tonight.  Now I just have to relearn Spanish and throw in the Barthelona Lithp.
