Just a couple of updates before I go to bed.
Rob arrived. The cat seems to be ok with him. I'm sure by the time I get back in a month she will have forgotten me completely.
I booked our seats this morning. I was wrong, Alisma is not an aisle girl, she is a window girl. I am also a window girl. So we were planning to each get a window which would mean sitting apart. I dutifully signed on at 10am, 24 hours exactly before out departure. It let me book the two window seats for Victoria to Vancouver. And then it just assigned us seats for the Vancouver to Montreal and Montreal to Paris legs. So, I had to call Air Canada (which you all know how much I love interacting with Air Canada) to get them to reassign our seats.
Vancouver to Montreal, we are in two seats but way apart. However, for the Montreal to Paris flight, the long one, there was only one window seat available. So, I booked that for Alisma and I am in the middle beside it. The MIDDLE! It is going to be a long flight. And just to add insult to injury, Air Canada lady informs me that I could have booked earlier, I just needed to call them. This is new. So, the only time they are nice is when I don't know about it. She also suggested I call Lufthansa to see if I can book our seats for the return flight. So I called Lufthansa. Yea, no. I learned that economy is actually broken into two sub-classes. We are the sub-sub-class who cannot book our seats. Call them 23 hours ahead they helpfully suggested. Oh well, that was what I thought anyway so nothing lost.
I am packed. I am bring more stuff than I expected (which in itself is to be expected). It all fits into my backpack though, For the flight I can move the electronics cube to my carry on. A few sundries in case they lose my bag and a book. I bought snacks today for the Vancouver to Montreal leg of the trip since we will be considered domestic for that part where we get no food, no entertainment and no love.
By the way, the bathroom is done. Long live the bathroom. And most of the tools were out of the guest room by the time Rob arrived so the timing was tight but worked out.
Chuck did the last finishing touches today. It is beautiful. The colour is great. Very purple. Check out that tile work. And the new deep tub. You can just see the window over the tub in this picture.
Ok, next time we speak, it will from Paris. Bonne nuit mes amis.
