Beautiful and delightful can be so many things. My friend Alisma, my new bathroom, my life, but in this case it is the Paris weather report for when we arrive. Alisma has checking and let me know that Friday is going to be "beautiful with some sun" and Saturday says "delightful with some sun". I like Paris Weather Network.
So, I hemmed my pants. For some reason this seemed to be the thing my brain was focusing on when I was feeling overwhelmed and time-crunch stressed. Probably because it was something that I had total control over and wasn't doing. But they are hemmed. I haven't tried them on to make sure they are the right length but they are hemmed and they are done. Checked off the list.
I bought new sandals. I couldn't not buy something. Oh, and a camera. And some earphones. And I borrowed Paul's small binoculars and then bought a case to put them in. And maybe a bag (or two) (at Value Village so it's not so bad).
I also got started on packing. Amy, my friend from work (not to be confused with Amy, my friend from university) lent me some packing 'cubes'. These are a wonder. I have a 'socks and undies' small cube. A 'all of my other clothes' medium cube. A two sided larger cube which has 'summer' on one side (bathing suit, wrap, sunglasses, hat and flipflops) and 'autumn' on the other side (fleece, rain shell, umbrella). And the biggest cube is for my electronics: cameras, computer, binoculars, ipod, plugs, cords, chargers etc. This way I just grab the electronics cube to put in my carry on for the plane and then shove back in the pack when we are on the move. Cubes!
Speaking of hats. I have three summer hats and had to decide which to take Here they are:
I think I like the one on the left the best but the one in the middle was more packable so it won. Right hat never had a chance with that geeky face as it's model. Sorry right hat. You aren't right (for me) so you are getting left (at home).
Hey I just noticed you can see some of the cubes in the background. Cubes!
Alisma has finished booking all of our accommodations. I was budgeting about $50 a night but she has brought us in under budget at @ $35 each a night. Extra money which we can spend on more boat trips and birding excursions. Yay, boats and birds. We are staying close to the Donana National Park in Spain where we (the royal we) hope to see (among many other birds and animals):
Bathroom update: Walls are painted, tub is in, lights are working, it looks like a bathroom again but there is still some stuff to do before it is fully usable. Rob arrives tomorrow mid-afternoon so hopefully the bathroom with be functional and the spare room will be accessible. I have faith in Chuck. Chuck is amazing. No, you can't have him.
One more day of work, three more sleeps and then we are in the land of beauty and delight.

Now we know which is better, beautiful or delightful. Looks like delightful wins (just) |
